1991

1021

In 1991 the first professional digital camera was released by Kodak. The digital came to SLR systems like the Hasselblad DB 4000 with a whopping 8-bit storage. This is also around the time that Adobe PhotoShop 1.0 became a thing. A digital camera helps photographers capture images or moments in a digital format. Then they were also gaining popularity due to the convenience and ability to review and delete images efficiently.

In 1021 the camera obscura was invented. The Camera Obscura is a device in a box shape, the lets light pass through on one side and projects it on the other. Camera Obscura is used mainly for drawing and entertainment. Previously the models used to be really big, and consisted of a literal room or tent. Later on there were more models created which were more convenient and portable to use. The camera obscura later on deveoped to include mirrors that rotated images and a screen onto which an image was projected. These cameras were the basis for early photographic cameras.

1685-1825

In 1685 Jhon Zahn designed one of the first small and portable cameras, although those ideas didnt come to like until 1825, where Joseph Nicephore Niepce made the first camera which actually took pictures using heliography.Heliography was a process where first The naturally occurring asphalt bitumen, is applied as a coating on glass or metal. This chemical then hardens in relation to the light exposure available. Then plate is then washed with oil of lavender. After washing with oil, the only area remaining would be the hardened area where the image formed.

Now days the cameras have gotten much better and moe accessible as well as with multiple new features. They consist of sensoring technology, which works with the lighting and the size of the pixels which have become much smaller coming at 1280 x 720. There are also autofocus systems, which blur the background or any part of the picture you want to make it look professional. They even now have the capability to take videos if needed. There have also been cameras which print the photos clicked. But to conclude a cameras features can vary from each camera as well its usefulness will be based on the purpose is it for. Each person has their own needs as well. So overall cameras have really improved and have found many uses, like cctv cameras and nature photography.
